WHO WE ARE


Shelborne Development Company is a women-owned, mission-driven company that drives inclusive neighborhood revitalization through rehabilitation of historic property, development of quality affordable housing, and strong economic development programming.

We have decades of experience rehabilitating historic properties in metro Detroit, and are widely recognized for our quality workmanship. Shelborne has received —

— multiple highly-competitive local and national awards for our work.

Our company is also dedicated to preserving inclusivity in the city by leveraging Low Income Housing Tax Credits to develop affordable housing in neighborhoods across the area. To date we have rehabilitated 22 multi-family, affordable housing buildings and over 2,000 affordable housing units in Michigan.

(2) Engagement in community-focused partnerships that create and implement equitable neighborhood development solutions for residents.

We achieve our mission by prioritizing projects that foster a community vitality that extends beyond the physical improvement of our structures, into the very heart and soul of our neighbor and residents. Through our commitment to neighborhood beautification projects, local safety initiatives, and workforce development programs we aim to be the engine that drives the redevelopment of entire communities.
